PHILIPPINE CONSULATE TO CONDUCT SEMINAR FOR NEW IMMIGRANTS, WORKERS
HAGATNA - The Philippine Consulate General wishes to announce that it is conducting its third Post Arrival Orientation Seminar on 15 November 2008 from 1:00 to 5:00 in the afternoon at the Dededo Community Center for new Filipino immigrants and overseas workers in Guam. The Post-Arrival Orientation Seminar aims to familiarize Filipinos in the island with the laws and regulations that are pertinent to their stay on the island. Important topics will be discussed, including issues related to Labor laws, Immigration, programs for housing, education and health care. All newly-arrived Filipino immigrants and overseas Filipino workers are invited to attend.
The Consulate has partnered with the Guam Department of Labor, the U.S. Department of Labor, U.S. Department of Homeland Security, the Guam Department of Health and Social Services and the Dededo Mayor’s office in arranging this seminar. Speakers from the partner-agencies have been lined up to speak about developments in their respective areas of concern. A question and answer session will follow each presentation.
The Philippine Consulate General staff will also be on hand to extend consular services during the seminar.
