GUAM DELEGATES TO THE 4TH AMBASSADORS, CONSULS GENERAL & TOURISM DIRECTORS TOUR PAYS COURTESY CALL TO PRESIDENT GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO

22 July 2008 – Photo shows the participants from Guam of the 4th Ambassadors, Consuls General and Tourism Director Tour which was held from 12 to 15 July 2008. Mrs. Laura-Lynn Dacanay, Chairman of the Guam Chamber of Commerce, Dr. Jaroslav Richter and Mrs. Amparo Garcia, mother of First Lady Jo Ann Camacho, were among the prominent members of the delegation from Guam.

 

The tour was highlighted by a courtesy call on President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and a luncheon held at the Malacañang Palace.  A wreath-laying ceremony at Rizal Park was also held in honor of the country’s national hero, Dr. Jose P. Rizal.  Aside from these official activities, dinners were hosted by the Department of Tourism at the newly opened Manila Ocean Park and Hyatt Hotel and Casino.  The participants also enjoyed the out-of-town day tour package they chose from the five options presented by the tour organizers:  Corregidor, Villa Escudero, Pagsanjan, Taal & Tagaytay Heritage Tour, and golf at the Tagaytay Midlands.

 

The ACGTD Tour is an annual project of the Philippine Ambassadors, Consuls General and Tourism Directors in the United States and Canada which aims to introduce U.S. and Canadian nationals and Filipino–Americans/Canadians to top Philippine tourist destinations and investment opportunities. Some 400 participants and from all over the United States and Canada joined the tour.
